After leaving the Meditterannean Sea and the Rivieras behind, the trip continued into France. Our first stop was at a perfume factory (Fragonard) and then to Aix-En-Provence.
We later travelled to Avignon to visit the Palais des Papes in Avignon, a giant Medieval castle in which the Pope lived at other than the Vatican. One of the more interesting places of interest in the Southern region of France.

Tiles of some floors
Above the first courtyard
Medieval cross designs on the parapet
Like a Pablo Picasso painting. But it’s Avignon.
Incomplete sculptural detailing on the arches
Gothic Details. Pointed arches, rose windows, cross vaulting.
Crowding and signing the guestbook
The half bridge that doesn’t cross the entire river
